So I just mapped out my reintroduction schedule. I plan on starting Thursday with legumes, Saturday I will be indulging in a glass of wine as hubby and I are going out for a long overdue date night :) On Monday I am doing dairy, Thursday I am doing gluten and then the following Monday will be non-gluten grains. Thinking this will give enough time between and hopefully there aren't any major reactions that hold things up.

Legumes are done. Had a Larabar with peanuts this am, hummus at lunch, and edamame at dinner. Felt like I might have been getting a headache after the peanut and also after the hummus but neither really manifested so could have been psychosomatic. No reaction with soy at all SO the very few times I eat PB I'm not worried and won't be freaking out that things might be soy contaminated when I go out to eat.

Overall a success. Next up is alcohol on Saturday. I never get hangovers but I have a feeling that will be different now!

I started my reintroductions on March 18th also. On Wednesday I had some yogurt for breakfast, cheese at lunch, and some ice cream after dinner. I didn't have any reaction, so I may add a little dairy back in occasionally. Different story with wine!!! Last night I had two glasses of Cabernet. By bedtime I had THE WORST HEARTBURN! I drank lots of water, but it was still with me at 2:00 AM. This morning it is much better, but I do have a slight headache and what feels like indigestion.

Interesting with the wine Sue!  That's great dairy doesn't seem to be an issue.  I had wine on Saturday night and no issues though the next day I was wiped.  It definitely affected my energy noticeably.  Today is non gluten grains and so far so good.  We'll see on the dairy and gluten as those I'm scared of!

So far I have done all my reintro's minus dairy.  That is still my wild card but so far so good!  I'm excited to know that I don't seem to have reactions to food as it makes life a little simpler but I definitely have changed in my desire to keep those foods in my life.  I still plan on an occasional splurge for something special but overall, I'm really happy with keeping my diet this way.  We'll see how I'm holding up in a few months time as I know how hard it is to keep new habits.  Old ones like to come back!

So now that you've done your re-intros, I'd love to hear what a week of "real life" eating looks like for you.

ThyPeace, had Progresso tomato soup tonight.  Tasted great.  Wish it didn't have the sugar and soy lecithin in it, though.

I have not done all my reintros yet. After the bad reaction to wine, I have been hesitant to add other foods. It took three days of clean eating to feel good again! I will eventually add more, but for now I am happy sticking with Whole 30.

Though I don't have a typical week yet as I just finished intro's I can pretty confidently give  you a week of food as I tend to eat paleo as it is:

Typically I cook up a frittata to have in my fridge so that I have breakfast for the week.  If I don't have a frittata I usually make a nutribullet with greens a banana and mixed fruit, almonds, chia seeds and have two hard boiled eggs on the side.

Lunches are always left overs from one of the dinners or I will take a piece of grilled chicken (cooked up on Sundays), and make a large salad with lots of veggies, olives, avocado and compliant dressing.

Preworkouts I usually have two hardboiled eggs.

I eat lunch right after I work out so no post workout.

Dinners are paleo meals about 6 days a week.  This is where I am not as strict as far as adding honey to a meal or something that isn't whole30 but still paleo.  I enjoy cooking so I get creative or do a in depth recipe a few times a week and the others are something simple.  I'm leaving it at 6 days a week I eat strict paleo as my husband and I go out to dinner on occasion or I go out with my girlfriends and we enjoy ourselves.  That will usually involve everything that is non compliant.

Things that I used to eat that I am definitely keeping out of my diet from here on out:  dairy in all forms unless it's a yummy gourmet cheese or butter.  Yogurt is always paired with like granola which I love but serves me in no way.  String cheese is always in my house for the kids and it does nothing for me except add mindless eating.  I don't put cheese on my meals already so that's no big deal but the other two are my problem areas.  I'm keeping my coffee black as well as if I start adding milk, it eventually goes to sweetened coconut milk or creamer and I way over consume.

Wheat I am really keeping at a bare minimum unless it's a special dessert.  I don't eat cereal already but I LOVE pancakes.  I am not eating pancakes unless we go out for a breakfast or if I do decide to have them at home I'll make them paleo compliant.  They are more of a pain to make so the threat of over doing it is less that way.

Legumes: not that into legumes so I'll avoid all unless I go out for sushi or if it's in something when we go out (oil) I'm not going to care.

alcohol: in definite moderation.  I've definitely gotten out of the habit of drinking and I have no desire to get back into it.  My husband and I have decided not to drink in our house unless it's a dinner party or special occasion so that is 90% of it for us as we don't go out a ton.

Non gluten grains:  again just keeping it out of the house so it'll be limited to special occasions.  This is one I need to be careful of as I definitely see this as a gateway for me to less healthy habits.

I feel like any time I have had sugar it's ridiculous how much I love it and want to over eat it!  I used to keep coconut ice cream at the house as I would have a few bites every few nights when I wanted something sweet and it would satisfy me.  Now I just want to devour it.  I hope that subsides but I suspect it may be worse since I am not allowing it very often.
