Laura Francis
Hi, I've just come across this product http://www.dvah.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&manufacturer_id=851&product_id=5978 I totally don't know what to make of it, wondering what others think? Seems like a waste of time eating it, but maybe it could be nice with Asian foods instead of actual noodles. Laura

Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 30, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 30, 2012 The Whole30 invites us to embrace nutrient-dense eating. It seems as if Shirataki noodles are the opposite of nutrient dense. Make some noodles by peeling zucchini squash with a julienne peeler and get some nutrition with your noodles instead. Laura Francis
Sounds like a much better plan! Although I have never seen a Zucchini squash in the UK! Is that just a zucchini you mean? (as in courgette)
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 30, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 30, 2012 After googling courgette for pictures, yes. Wikipedia says, "The zucchini or courgette is a summer squash which can reach nearly a meter in length, but which is usually harvested at half that size or less..." Charlotte Hills
I wouldn't bother with it Laura (hi by the way, am also UK based, in London ) - I've read mixed reports about those noodles. I know some people love them but I agree with Tom, I'd rather substitute veg instead rather than having a pretendy food. If I want something like that I get a veg peeler and peel carrots and courgette into thin shards, flash fry or steam for a minute and use as you would pasta/noodles. Derval
Another Euro here, zucchini=courgettes, eggplants=aubergines You should be able to get a julienne peeler in a kitchen shop, I know Jamie Oliver does one.
Meg Hamilton
You can also use a regular old veggie peeler! Don't forget your serviette!

I have seen it in posts before but never took the time to look it up. Thanks!
Laura Francis
Thanks all. I wasn't going to bother with the noodles I can't see the point of eating something that is technically nothing. I just wondered if anyone had actually eaten them! Somehow I was imagining that paper would taste better!
Derval
You'd have to put it through the shredder first
