BJS12345
I'm on day 16 today, and won't get on the scale, but I am hoping I lost a few pounds since I started! I've followed the program to a "T" so far I think! I haven't snacked In between meals. The only thing I could be overdoing is portion size?? I guess I'll find out after day 30. I plan to do it again at that point so if I don't lose weight this time, I will tweak it for my next Whole 30. With all of that said, I know that the number on the scale is not the only measurement of success, and I have felt really good since about day 9. My sleep is really sound and I feel more clearheaded and awake during the day. I also feel healthy and strong. I was on a basic paleo diet before I started this for almost a year with dairy though. Also I drank wine on occasion and had a bad sweet tooth. But basically I was a no bread, pasta, or pizza person. Sweets were another story!! Plus I was overdoing the grass fed butter and jarlsberg and feta cheese. I also didn't drink any soda or use artificial sweeteners before starting. Water and coffee were my only beverages (besides the occasional wine)! Of course I gave up the dairy and the wine and the cake and ice cream but my Whole 30 change might not have been as drastic as someone eating a lot of bread, cereal, granola bars, pasta before they started. I am looking forward to the next 15 days and what is to come!
Edesia
I had the same curiousity and was a bit worried, but like you, decided to follow the plan and not get on the scale. At about week 3, my clothes were definitely looser and I was able to fit into pants I had not been able to pull on for a couple of years. That's when I stopped worrying and just trusted the program. In the end, I did lose about five pounds after completing the Whole30. That accomplishment paled in comparison to all the other fantastic improvements in my health. Keep on going. You are doing great!
Mamatutu
I'm with you... day 22 today for me and I'm not so desperate to get on the scale as I was as my jeans are much loser now than when I started. I'm also trying really hard to focus on the non scale victories such as my skin being clearer and no break outs around my monthlies, my sleep being so much deeper and more refreshing and waking before the alarm. I feel leaner, which I noticed in the shower this morning, my thighs just feel firmer and stronger some how. Another week and I might weigh myself... but I'm planning on going on to do another 30 after this one so I might wait until the end of that one. This is a victory in itself as I was a daily weigh-er until I started out on this.
Edesia
That's a HUGE victory, Mamatutu. When I saw your location, I was reminded of a trip I took almost 30 years ago. I stayed in your town for a couple of nights. I don't remember the name of the place, but I know I had a room above a pub. Beautiful country.
