Help new at this-- day 9 and soooo tired and wanting snacks

Recommended Posts

I have followed everything to the "T". I am not seeing any "boundless energy" at this point. I am so tired and on top of that craving tons of things and am just hungry. I have eaten part of an apple and some almonds and pecans. Is there any options on snacks and is this normal to feel like this?

I've moved your question to the Troubleshooting forum. Let's see if we can help.  Could you post a couple of days' worth of meals, water intake, sleep, exercise, stress levels for us? We can help you figure out what's up.

In general, if you are hungry, you need to eat more. So, for instance, if you're hungry right now, go make yourself a mini-meal featuring protein, fat, and veggies. Note: nuts are a fat source, not a protein source, on Whole30. If you're really hungry go ahead and make it a full meal.

Let us help you out, and eat up!

Hey, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.  "Boundless energy" is a bit of a misnomer, not everyone gets that and I would say that on Day 9 it's even less common.

Cravings and being hungry are a general indicator of not eating enough at your meals.  Have you seen our Meal Template (see my signature below for the link)?

Eating when you are hungry while you are trying to get your meals in balance to keep you for 4-5 hours is fine but we recommend making it a protein, fat and veggie "mini meal" rather than just fruit or nuts.  Those fruits and nuts alone (not in combo with a proper meal) keeps your blood sugar fluctuating and that can cause exhaustion, cravings etc.

Do you want to post a couple days worth of your typical food consumption (including portion sizes), fluids and stress, sleep, activity? We can take a look and see if anything stands out?

The solution to being hungry is eating bigger meals or adding an additional meal (or two), not eating snacks.

Lots of people do not eat enough when they start a Whole30. They don't appreciate that when we say fill your plate with veggies, we mean fill your plate with veggies...
