Physibeth
No on both. Kefir I'm assuming is dairy (not sure of another type). No sugar at all...none! Please review the program rules carefully.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted April 1, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 1, 2015 There is water kefir which is allowed (milk kefir obviously is not). From the Can I Have list: Water Kefir: Yes Following the same logic as kombucha, we’re okay with water kefir. If you’re making it yourself, do what you can to ensure that the sugar is used by the bacteria (appropriate fermentation time). If you’re buying, avoid those brands with added sugar in the ingredients list.
MeadowLily
Mods - many are being told out there in private FB land they they can have Kefir and Yogurt on a Whole 30. The Vegetarian version is being mixed/combined into a new hybrid Whole 30. They're creating new combos. They even have a new drink of half dairy Kefir or dairy yogurt mixed with half Kombucha....probiotic smoothies.

If you see someone posting something like that though never hurts to gently re-post the rules.
