Compliant recipe books

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm starting on Monday and I'm reading everything I can but is there a cook book I can get for the Whole30.?I'm finding lots of recipes but they are all over the place and some I'm not always sure they are compliant or not. It would be great to have a cook book and plan my meals, particularly while I'm learning! I'm based in the UK.

Many thanks for any help

Well Fed and Well Fed 2 are both 99% compliant recipes, and the one or two recipes in each that aren't are clearly labeled. Check out the author's blog, The Clothes Make The Girl, to see if her style of cooking and the ingredients she uses are something that interest you. She also has Whole30 weekly cookup plans with all the information available online, so you could try it out for a week and see what you think, if you want -- here's week 1, and at the bottom of that post, she has links to weeks 2, 3, & 4.

Nom Nom Paleo: Food For Humans is also mostly compliant. The author's blog is Nom Nom Paleo -- in addition to checking out some of her recipes there, if you decide to get her book, you can look for a printable list on her website of which recipes in the book are W30 compliant.

Really, though, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules of the Whole30 so that you can determine for yourself which recipes are compliant and which aren't -- it's really not that difficult, and that will allow you to determine easily what recipes are okay and which ones aren't, and will also allow you to adapt recipes if there are just a few changes necessary to make it compliant. It also will allow you to make changes to recipes based on what's available in your area, since many of the resources that are mentioned here are US-based and there may be some differences.

Also, don't feel like you need "recipes" for everything. It doesn't have to be complicated. A Whole30 meal could be as simple as grilled chicken or grilled hamburger patties, two or three kinds of vegetables, and a dollop of homemade mayo or some olive oil drizzled on top.
