JillH
I just bought a InstaPot off Amazon and will be getting it in a few days! I would love to hear people's experiences and recipes!!! Thank you!!!
SpinSpin
I got one from my MIL as an early birthday present. I am thinking about trying out some of nom nom paleo's pressure cooker meals! There is a mexican beef one and her kaula pork now has a pressure cooker variation. She even has one for bone broth in 2 HOURS!! wow! (I haven't used mine yet--re organizing the kitchen so it will have a home in the cupboards--we have a VERY small kitchen and I don't really want to keep it in the garage!) Rebe_J
I love mine; I call it my Speed Cooker. I've had it only a few weeks and it's at the top of my favorite kitchen tools list, along with my immersion blender. Just yesterday, I used it for: steam-baked potatoes in 12 minutes Braised Kale & Carrots in 8 minutes (Nom Nom Paleo)--even the big kale stems are tender Mexican Beef in 30 minutes (Nom Nom Paleo pressure cooker version) applesauce in 3 minutes Kahlua Pig in 30 minutes (Nom Nom Paleo pressure cooker version) It can be used for just about anything made in a slow cooker, in a fraction of the time and with much more intense flavors. I won't use it again for: broccoli--overcooked and mushy spaghetti squash; even though it's cooked in 3 minutes, it's soggy and difficult to get the excess moisture out. I have a tiny kitchen, too, so I have to have tools and gadgets that multi-task. My Speed Cooker is such a time saver, I can get a lot more done. penlynwilson
I have it, too, and love it! You need to figure out if/how much additional liquid to add if you aren't a sea level. It is great to have something that you can use to cook food so quickly!
