TaylorH
I am on day 21 on my whole30 and feel that I have been following it religiously. This past weekend I went home to visit my parents and told them that I would do all of the cooking so that I could continue on with my plan. I marinated some chicken and passed it on to my dad to go put on the grill outside. I ate the meal later on and it seemed to taste great. That night I had a terrible, nauseous stomach ache that included throwing up and diarrhea. My husband also told me that he saw my dad smother "I can't believe its not butter" all over my chicken and veggies before placing it on the grill. He said he did not want to say anything because he thought my did not realize I was not supposed to have that and he did not want to complain. Do you think my sickness came from the butter? I do not know what else I could have eaten that gave me this terrible reaction. Do I need to start over on my whole30? I had come so far and it is super frustrating that my dad did that. Carlaccini
Based on your pretty severe reaction - I would actually strongly recommend that you start over. "I can't believe it's not butter" ingredients has several red flags for possible gut disruption - soybean oil, palm kernel oil, Buttermilk, Soy Lecithin are just to name a few. However with all that being said read this article http://whole30.com/2014/06/really-start-whole30/ Make your decision from there.
