Moderators Tom Denham Posted April 21, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 21, 2015 Thanks for posting a picture of one of your meals. It is not enough food. When we say fill the plate with veggies, we mean fill the plate with veggies. I can see too much of the plate through your food. You will find that avoiding snacks will be easy when you begin to eat substantial meals that include as much food as your body actually needs. http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf
meeulk
Thanks, Tom! It's been really hard getting all of that food down. And, now Husband has a stomach virus. Stomach viruses kick my anxiety into high gear, and I have no appetite. I have a diversion to all food really, until I get over it. (After a couple of days of cleaning... until I know I can function in my own house and not get sick) I'm on Day 3, and my stomach is in knots. It's definitely a combination of the new diet and nerves. If anyone has any suggestions on what I can eat to get thorough this.... ugh. (had some carrots and that was a-ok) This is a new level of mentally challenging I didn't account for... I know the anxiety is a an outside issue, and I've talked to my doc about it. It's only when someone in my house is sick, so I didn't want meds. I just deal with it. Day 2 finished off with a steak and tons of veggies. I couldn't get all of the salad down, and I didn't need a snack later either!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted April 22, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 22, 2015 Not getting enough carbs can make anxiety worse. Try to eat at least one serving per day of starchy veggies like potatoes, parsnips, rutabagas, plantains...
meeulk
It's Day 10 and I'm still here! I feel pretty crummy today. Not sure what's going on. I feel so tired and lethargic. My stomach is upset, and I'm kind of dizzy. My goal this week is to eat more.

Sorry you're feeling crappy, do you want to post a couple days of typical food (include portions), fluids, sleep, exercise etc? We can take a look and see if anything stands out? Is anyone at work or in your circle of friends sick?
meeulk
Thanks, LadyShanny! I'm already feeling better after eating a significant lunch (with some salt!). I hate to say it, but Husband is right that I am NOT eating enough. I also think it might have been the nuts in the Larabar I had that upset my stomach. I've never had issues before though.
