aorlflood
I started the Whole30 on 1/15/15...you can read my first update here: http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/25368-day-31-and-results/ I've continued eating the Whole30 way, though I did have to modify it a bit when we went on vacation last week. I measured and weighed today and these are the results: Wt. -26.4 Neck -1.25" Bust -2.5" Waist -3.25" Hips -4" Thighs -5.75" total Calves -2.5" total Upper arms -3" total Total inches lost: 22.25"!!!! Since starting the Whole30, I have been taken off FIVE medications!!! Those medications were for GERD (omeprazole), asthma (Advair), neuropathy (gabapentin), cholesterol (Zetia), and blood pressure (HCTZ). I remain on 4 medications at this time, but am hoping to come off of at least 2 more as I continue this journey! I turned 55 this week and don't have the fastest metabolism. I have a physically demanding job (I'm a staff Registered Nurse in a busy recovery room) and work 12 hour shifts. I have severe bone-on-bone arthritis in my right knee which precludes a lot of stressful exercise...so all-in-all, I "shouldn't" have had this level of weight or inches loss, if you look at the "statistics", but that just goes to show what eating the right foods and the healthy fats will do for you! Munkers
Fantastic! And hooray for nurses! I think exercise gets way too much focus when it comes to weight loss. Exercise is important for your cardiovascular health, but if your goal is to lose weight/change your body composition, then you'll have 1000x better results by cleaning up your diet. So how do you FEEL?!

Carrots&Blueberries
wow! I'm so glad to see this update from you! I remember your first success story very clearly. The inches lost are awesome, of course, but off 5 medications is just incredible - so inspiring. Good for you!
Bluphoenix
Amazing results!! Well done It's really inspiring to hear from someone who has kept going because all too often people slip into old habits. I want to keep going after the 30 days as I have a lot of weight to lose and some habits that may take more than 30 days to break...I'll use your story as my inspiration Have a great day
nowim55
Hi, I don't know if you're still doing whole 30, but I'm interested in your results because I am also 55 (in May) and have been suffering from Chronic Bronchitis. I take a ton of meds for the resulting asthma so I'm trying to see if this Whole 30 will help. I'm 5'3" and weighed about 155 when I started, am now at day 24...still have asthma and in fact had an exacerbation last week that sent me to bed for a few days with fever and body aches. Also, with this wonderful age thing, would like to see some weight loss to help with joint pain, osteo and degenerative arthritis. Have you stuck with it and how are you feeling six months later. Thanks for your guidance!
