tricializ
I am on day 8 of my first Whole 30 and doing really well. But I am traveling all day Tuesday and will be in airports at lunch time going out and ether or both lunch and dinner coming back. I have a 3 hour drive to the airport too. Whoo. Add to it, Tuesday night I am going out to dinner with a friend. Looking for ideas on what to have for lunch, where to eat out, what is safe etc. Thanks for any help. MeadowLily
Buy some compliant jerky for all of your pockets. Those baby food packets are alright in a pinch. I'd go primarily for the vegetable ones over fruit but you can do those while you're on the road. Eat before you go, three hours on the road (snacks are not necessary in that amount of time). Lunch, Dinner...I have no idea where you're headed but you'll have to navigate the menus. Baked potatoes, salad, steaks, burgers w/o buns, chicken breasts, pork chops, salmon, tuna, trout, halibut, cod, lobster, shrimp, crab, lettuce wraps and oh, there's bison, too. Moderators Tom Denham Posted April 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 26, 2015 I've had success at Ruby Tuesday's in airports. Steak houses generally work. You can order steak and grilled or steamed broccoli.
tricializ
Thanks. It's mostly the first day where I will be having some sort of airport food at some point and then out to dinner. The out to dinner will be fine but it's the stupid airport food. yuck. I have a 7AM doctor's visit that could take anywhere from 2 hours to 5 or 6 so I thought I would pack some nuts and some applesauce pouches in case I get weak. Then figure out something from there to eat before heading to the airport again for a 2 plane ride trip and a 2-3 hour drive home. Long 2 days. Thanks for the suggestions. MeadowLily
Applesauce is primarily fruit sugar and nuts are alright. Protein of some kind would be better. Jerky. http://whole9life.com/2013/09/a-labor-of-love-gourmet-grassfeds-new-whole30-approved-line/ http://whole9life.com/2013/07/whole30-approved-chomps-snack-sticks/ http://whole9life.com/2011/10/primal-pacs-interview/

MelanieD
Sometimes you can find hardboiled eggs, whole fruit, sashimi, and full restaurants in airports where you can get a salad with grill chicken. Which airport?
