lbres
On the rule of eating only 3 meals a day without snacking, my question is this: Should we eat until we feel full? Really full at each meal? In my first week and trying to keep up the proteins and fat for satiety sake, but have had a couple of days when I snacked quite a bit. (I'm used to 6 smaller meals throughout the day... I know, I know!) I feel like I'm consuming such large quantities at mealtime! One of my goals is to lose weight. Thanks!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted April 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 26, 2015 If you're used to eating six small meals throughout the day, you may have trouble eating enough at just three meals at first, and that's fine. If you are hungry (truly hungry, so that you'd be willing to eat something bland like steamed fish and broccoli), it's fine to eat, but try to have a mini-meal of protein, fat, and vegetables, rather than just snack-type foods like nuts or fruits. One thing you might try is, for each meal, plate up a full template-sized meal, and eat as much as you can, eating from your protein, fat, and veggie sources fairly evenly so that when you are full and stop eating, there's still some of each. Once you're full, put the plate aside, and then when you're hungry again, go back and finish it. Over time, you'll find you eat more of each meal until you get to where you can eat the whole thing at once.
