Can I have chestnuts or chestnut flour?

You can eat chestnuts, but they are best consumed in moderation. Chestnuts are relatively high in starch and carbohydrates and they deliver a much higher dose of omega 6 fatty acids than omega 3s. Our bodies need omega 6s, but most people are already getting an overload of omega 6 and are coming up short on omega 3s, so adding something rich in omega 6s doesn't help.

Being the cheapskate I am, I'd probably eat this batch and then not buy more.
