MelanieD
So I'm not really a fruit junkie, typically if I eat it I eat it before noon, just one serving, something like raspberries, an apple, a plum. Last night the grocery store had these amazing tree-ripened organic peaches, and I had one for, "dessert," aka 2 hours at most before bed. I woke up at 2am (after 3-4 hours of sleep) and had a really hard time going back to sleep? Could this have been caused by a sugar spike from the fruit that late in the day? Hannlib
I'd say yes. But I am very sugar sensitive.
GFChris
Potentially. You want to avoid using fruit as 'dessert' on a Whole30. Fruit is optional. If you're going to have it, the recommendation is 1-2 servings a day, where a serving is a whole piece of fruit the size of your fist. Further, we advise having fruit with or immediately after a meal, not on its own as a snack.
