Jski
My name is Janel and I am starting my first Whole30 on Monday. I am so frustrated with my failed attempts at losing weight. I stumbled across the Whole30 link on Facebook and was immediately intrigued by what I read. I am not happy about giving up dairy, especially cheese but something about this plan has resonated with me. It just makes sense. I have been talking about it so much with my family and waiting for the Whole30 book to be delivered from Amazon that my 20 year old daughter has decided to do this with me. My book came today! I'll spend the weekend preparing for my start date Monday! For accountability, I would like to log my experience daily just as I see others are doing. I hope to start some friendships with fellow whole30'ers as well. So happy that this is here and am looking forward to what I am about to find out in the course of 30 days. Jski
I was very excited to start my whole30 journey today after all of the shopping I did yesterday to prepare for my first week. Whoa!! It proved to be a little harder than I thought to find compliant foods without off limit ingredients! You really do have to check the labels! For breakfast, I made the spinach fritatta from the whole30 book. It was delicious! I was pretty surprised that I enjoyed it so much without cheese. I was even more proud of myself for drinking black coffee.Yeah not one splenda and no sugar free flavored creamer. I was delighted to find that I enjoyed my homemade Italian vinaigrette from the whole30 book for my salad I had for lunch today. By dinner time I was starting to wonder if this is going to work. I doubled the recipe for Melissa's chicken hash on page 228 of the whole30 book and split it 4 ways for my family. I don't think they were very excited about it which discouraged me. I hope if this will really be worth all the effort. I am in it though, one day at a time!
SuzySV
How's it going? I started May 4th, too. I'm doing okay. I've lost interest in eating today, so I've eaten way less than I have the previous eight days. Tomorrow is going to be a challenge for me. I have work lunch at a Chinese buffet, which I can only stay at for a little while before I have to hit the road for a meeting an hour away. I know I can't eat much, if anything, at the buffet, so the trick is going to be what to do if I get hungry at midday. That might be the time when I have my daily banana - I'm in love with bananas now because they are the most portable, delicious snack going. My one banana a day usually gets me through a time when I am hungry but not in a place where I can have an actual meal.
Jski
Hi Susy! - so happy to get your note. So i guess we are both on day 10! I am eating less too, for the past couple of days, which I think is amazing. But I think this is normal given the fact that we are eating really good food. I also have no cravings for anything - again totally amazing. Good Luck today at your work lunch. Hey you went 9 days, you can do this! I have the same challenges as you I think, being on the road at lunch time, traveling to meetings. Bananas are great and almonds, olives and baby carrots will also transport easy. I have been thinking about making those sausages that are in the whole30 book to take on the road too. Whatever it takes right? I'll be anxious to hear how your lunch went today. Hang in there! I have a feeling this will be all worth it. Again, thank you for messaging me as i really did want to be more active on this forum but so far only posted for the 1st two days.
