I started my first Whole 30 on May 1. So far, I think I'm doing fairly well, even conquered a day of loathing my kitchen or cooking aka cooking-burnout by finding a local restaurant that has lots of compliant options. I already have more energy too, which is a huge deal since I was sedentary & in constant pain from fibromyalgia, Sjögren's syndrome, and Hashimoto's hypothyroidism! I even danced around my living room yesterday which I hadn't been able to do in ages!

However, I have a breakfast issue. If you'd asked me before if I liked breakfast & eggs, I would have said yes. However after a week of eating eggs & vegetables for breakfast, I now hate breakfast. The idea of eating eggs, meat, vegetables, or anything not sweet or carb-y in the morning now makes me nauseous! I've tried a few recipes, some egg-free, the spinach tomato frittata from the book, eating dinner leftovers, etc, but I hate it all. I have to force it down.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like you are doing great! Fellow hashi's gal here as well...

I don't have much advice on breakfast, because I'm getting the same way (day 7). I however, keep on chugging along because eggs are just so darn easy to eat in the morning!

I think I found a breakfast that works for me. It may not be the "best" option, but I can eat it without dread! Hard-boiled eggs with truffle salt, a small apple sliced, and lots of all-natural almond butter.

Hi Liz,

Being slightly nauseated by the idea (and the practice) of eating savoury foods for your first meal is not uncommon.  We do recommend that you keep trying though and don't let fruits push the veggies out of the way.  A good amount of folks find that eating fruits first thing in the morning leaves them open to intense cravings and volatile hunger/energy throughout the rest of the day.

We recommend to keep trying because the balancing of hormones and blood sugars that you get from eating a template breakfast in the morning is tied directly to the "magic" further on down the road.

If you need something somewhat "carby" in the morning, try adding a bit of sweet potato to your breakfast meal.  But again, watch how you react later in the day to make sure that the early morning carbs aren't causing cravings all day.
