mcifoster
Hi everyone. My name is Sara and I will be starting the Whole 30 on May 8th. Anyone out there starting as well and want some accountability?
fancyhouser
Hi Sara, I started Whole 30 yesterday. I'd love to be your accountability partner Are you all ready for tomorrow?
SquirrelGirl
Here, here! In fact, I started May 6th and already failed terribly (don't even ask, no excuses...), so I'm restarting tomorrow (8th) - and OBVIOUSLY I need an accountability partner (or two). mcifoster
How's it going ladies? I am trying to have hot tea instead of my normal afternoon snack. Not really hungry. Just a habit. Hoping the tea will cover the desire for something in the afternoon.
fancyhouser
Day 5 here and going strong. I've been feeling pretty good, but looking to decrease my fruit intake a little because I've been going a bit nuts with it. NOT enjoying my coffee with coconut milk, but it's growing on me! How are you both doing?
mcifoster
Day 3 in the books. Before the w30 I had been doing a bulletproof tea, so pretty used to the coconut milk. But eliminating the stevia, butter and vanilla makes it pretty bland. Have you tried adding in some cinnamon? Tired today, but slept poorly last night. Took a nap. How much fruit have you been having? I had an apple and prob 1.5c of berries today.
SquirrelGirl
Haha, that's funny, fancyhouser! I always hated coffee until I tried it with coconut milk (before/unrelated to the Whole30) and now I have a serious caffeine problem! Actually, I'm considering quitting coffee for my Whole30... I'm reducing for now to max. 2 cups/day, then 1 then 0... (the 2 cups is already a huge step ^^). @mcifoster: I guess the stevia is out for good, but you could use ghee instead of butter, and vanilla is totally ok too (not extract, but real vanilla is). Also, I am totally for cinnamon. I literally put cinnamon into everything I eat.
fancyhouser
Well... I was having a glass of juice a day because I was so excited juice was allowed, a banana with my breakfast, some dried pineapple, strawberries here and there and then some more dried pineapple in the evening. That's probably why I haven't gotten the sugar dragon thing. Planning on cutting juice out and going from there. I'm already noticing a difference in the way things are fitting and my energy levels are pretty good. I'm definitely noticing i'm not getting the afternoon slump/exhaustion quite as much, probably from the lack of carbs. Yesterday/Mother's Day was hard for me but I concentrated on non food celebrations and it worked out pretty well
