Suzy
Hey, everyone! I had such amazing success with my first W30 (you can see my post in Success Stories), that I'm doing another one for IBS symptoms that I noticed in the last couple of weeks. I really want to reduce inflammation as much as I can and get as healthy as I can. Symptoms that were improved with the first go around: Depression, anxiety, mood swings, excess weight, binge eating, sugar addiction, sleep problems. And I think not stepping on the scale was one of the most unexpected gifts I received. Even after the 30 days were up, I didn't step on the scale. I'm not planning on stepping on it anytime soon, either! I love not being obsessed with numbers and living with the beautiful body I have in the present moment! Having to shop for new jeans 2 sizes smaller is good enough feedback for me!!! What I hope to acheive this time: Even better digestion, less joint and muscle pain (improved at first, then went back to painful), more reliance on vegetables over coffee and dried fruit to feel full and nourish myself. Oh, and even more body fat loss. What I know: I know I have a sensitivity to broccoli, cauliflower, and some dried fruits. I really don't want to give up my beloved coffee in the morning, but if it helps I'll do it. I'll try and post what I have for some meals to keep me accountable. Wish me luck! Suzy
All right, so since my first W30, which ended in August, I've been a little lax with the guidelines. I think this is due to needing a break after being so strict, so I will take September to figure out what I want to do for a W30 in October. I think October might be a very good time to do a W30 since the big holidays follow immediately. If I do one on the 1st-30th, I can plan on a small treat for Halloween. Right now I'm just getting my head on straight for this IBS thing. I'm learning which foods to avoid (for me, that's broccoli, cauliflower, dried apricots, etc.). Also, I have PMS issues, which have improved from my W30, but need further improvement. I just learned today that caffeine can cause the body to produce more estrogen(!!!). I have plenty, believe me, so I will be nixing this altogether this month.
Suzy
First day of limiting one of my personal weaknesses: dried fruit. Doing this will enable me to eat less sugary complex carbs like sweet potato and winter squash. It will also help my digestion since I'm eating so much dried mango and so many raisins after I eat a meal. It's a kind of dessert crutch. I subscribe to food combining and believe that fruit should either be eaten by itself or 15-30 minutes BEFORE a meal.
