Let's try this again, May 9!

I fell off the wagon before I got started. (I was supposed to start May 1) But I was reminded of how bad the foods I want to eat make me feel, and I got a little practice in the kitchen without the pressure. So I feel much more prepared and ready to get started tomorrow! My frittata is prepared and lunch is in the fridge! (Here's to hoping the baby sleeps tonight!)

I am a mommy of 3- 5 1/2, almost 3, and 7 months. Still breastfeeding the little one. I stay at home, my husband works long hours and just launched a photography business. My kids won't be strictly following the Whole30 with me, but the only non-compliant food they will have is what is already in the house, anything my husband asks for, and anything at Grandma's house.

Let's do this!!!!

Breakfast- 2 slices of frittata- it was thinner than I expected it to be, next time I'll leave out the tomatoes

2 strawberries and a couple of slices of avocado

Reminded that I don't like avocado (though I do like guacamole with chips). I also don't like coconut or olives. Really don't want to really on nuts for fat- any other fat ideas?

I'm a picky eater, and I'm pretty sure that's going to be the hard part for me- finding meals that have all the components that I'm willing to eat.

Hi RoseMeg451-

I also started today.  I had cold salmon and carrots for breakfast and planning for salad at Chipotle for lunch. I'd love to stay in touch and support each other.  I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and I need to lose around 80#.  My kids are older, my daughter is 24 and my son will turn 18 at the end of the month.  He will be going off to college and I will be alone with my two dogs.  Getting focused on me after years of focusing on them!!

Have a great day,

Cheryl

Hi ladies.

Im starting tomorrow so hope you don't mind if I join in too? This is my second time, did my first in February but now ive got the new book think this time will be much easier. Ive not really brought back dairy, legumes or carbs since my last one but sugar is definitely trying to make a big comback :(

Like you cherylynnc my kids are older and have left home and decided this year i was going to change things. I live in Scotland so lots of the lovely products available in USA are not readily available or expensive but with the help of cheap supermarkets like lidl and aldi i can get there without breaking the bank!

Today ive made lamb koftas, pesto and roasted a chicken to get me started.

As for adding in fat apart from advacado and nuts RoseMeg451- , why not try making mayanaise or other dressings that have olive oil in them?

Look forward to hearing how you get on over next few days. We can do this!!!!!!

Hi Sunshine33 and RoseMeg451 -

I am really liking the program.  I like all the foods and the recipes I have made have been really good.  I made the Sunshine Dip and it's VERY good.  I took the dip and cut up vegetables to a party Sat evening and everyone really liked it.  I have leftovers, so I'm using those for lunches this week.  The biggest issue for me is moving my butt!!  I have a membership to Planet Fitness and two dogs that need walked, but I still just sit on my butt after work.  I'm hoping I'll start to feel energized soon!!

Have a great day!!

Hi

glad you are enjoying it. Me too. Must try that dip! I know what you mean about getting moving. I work from 7:30 till 2 then have my grandaughter after work till 6 when her mum picks her up, so by then the thought of exercising or going for a walk doesn't appeal! Must get my butt in gear too. Going to make bolognaise with spiralized courgette for dinner tomorrow. Got leftovers for lunch too so hopefully no slip ups. I work in function catering and am surrounded by goodies or should i say unhealthy choices :) all day so if im prepared its much easier.

You have good day too!

Jane
