Puppercakes
Hi, I cooked my first sweet potato last night. I baked it in the oven with some olive oil and sea salt. It was so good. (I had a salad with my dinner as well) Today, all I want to eat is sweet potato! Is this normal? I wan't to go out and buy more so I can make them again tonight, but is that giving in to my cravings? It doesn't seem like a healthy food relationship? But is it ok since it is a compliant food? Thanks!
Guest Andria
I don't think craving a sweet potato is an indication of an unhealthy food relationship. Sometimes I crave liverwurst or smoked oysters. Would that be unhealthy? Go ahead and eat the sweet potato! Many who do a Whole30 eat at least one sweet potato a day. Just don't try to manipulate it into some sort of dessert-y treat. Carlaccini
I crave bacon, and olives from time to time - all this means to me is that I am eating too low fat. On my first whole 30 I wanted to eat beef - even super fatty cuts - morning noon and night. Initially I was scared, but was suggested to roll with it as most likely my body was craving something that it was short on. I rolled with it and within 3 days - it passed. So all this craving is telling me is that you are going too low carb and your body is telling you that you need them. So follow Amy S' advice above and eat up! Lorilou
I make sweet potato stacks in my muffin pan. Thinly sliced with sea salt, olive oil and a little rosemary. I am surprised my skin is not turning orange yet. I love them !! Lorilou
