Prepping For June

Hello, Whole30 newbies and veterans!

I received my Whole30 book on Friday and have been diving into it with much anticipation and anxiety! This time last year, I had just given birth to a baby and felt content with my life. That is, until I couldn't do anything without getting out of breath! I weighed close to 260 pounds, and knew that something had to change.

Fast forward to now, and I have just recently hit the scale at under 200 pounds...yes, I'm admitting my weight and it's a big step for me! I have been incorporating a Paleo lifestyle into mine and my family's lives for the past few months. Though I am proud of where I have come from last year (I had numerous non-scale victories that aided my determination for change), I am still in need of improving my health. After four knee surgeries (college basketball can ruin your knees), I knew that I needed to accept the Whole30 challenge! I'm prepping now for a June 1st start date, and I am grateful for this awesome community! Thanks for stopping by and congratulations to everyone on making such a positive change in your life!

Hi! I am starting my first Whole30 on June 1 as well. I'm over half way through, It Starts With Food, and I am convinced that I need a lifestyle overhaul. Looking forward to keeping up with you guys and supporting each other. We've got this!

Hi, M. and A.!

We definitely can do this!!

M--Is your husband doing the Whole30 with you or just being your support system? My husband is not participating in the Whole30, so I've been doing the same! He has this ridiculous metabolism that enables him to eat anything he wants...soooo unfair!! Do you have any specific goals you're wanting to attain for  your Whole30?

A--I love that..."lifestyle overhaul." I am hoping that this challenge will contribute to weight loss but I'm anxious to see what my trigger foods are. I have been a carb-loving, bread obsessed, cheese lover all of my life. Just by cutting bread from my diet, I have noticed a newfound energy and I'm in a more pleasant mood! Do you have anything in your health that you're hoping to discover from your Whole30?

I'm here for you guys! Announcing your desire to do the Whole30 is such a big step! Just remember that small changes are big victories!  Great to meet you both! :D

Hi, Whole30 nation!!

Well, in the midst of my preparation, I have received a blessing. My husband and I are expecting baby #2! While it has caught me totally off guard, it has also encouraged me to live an even healthier lifestyle compared to my first pregnancy. My start day was supposed to be tomorrow, but I may have to push it back a bit. I have still be eating Paleo and will continue to do so. I know women have done the Whole30 before while pregnant, so I am feeling that I can do it as well! Regardless of my start date, I wish everyone well who is choosing to start tomorrow! Yall can do this! One bite at a time! This is one of the best decisions you will ever make for yourself! Much love!!
