fmkmahwahnj
Reading It Starts With Food & material on Whole 30 Website. Have been following the guidelines without a slip as far as I know for just under 2 weeks. Considering this a dry run before formal commitment on 6/1 which is when my wife & I return from a weekend getaway with old friends at an Inn in Mass. I expect to be non compliant but not crazy that weekend. Also am allowing myself 1 cheat day this coming Memorial Day Weekend.Been either running or lifting weights daily for last couple of weeks. 5 lbs away from the top of my weight goal range. Been kind of a loner with my fitness & health endeavors but have come to realize I'm going to need a lot of support if I'm going to make this change & make it stick or the long term. MeadowLily
I think you're on the right track. I can tell you that a big blow-out or food bender before you start does not make it easier. They're aren't enough food benders in the world that will remind you of why you're starting on Day One. Going into a Whole 30 with the right frame of mind will help you end with the right frame of mind on Day 31. You're smart to rein in the eating beforehand. Priming the pump with whole foods is a great decision.
TonyaM
Yep, I'm gearing up for a June 1st start too. I have been following paleo guidelines since mid February but still have a few things that are proving difficult to shake (coffe & wine mostly) My pantry is looking pretty clean but I will spend the next couple of weeks stocking up on Whole30 & getting rid of the non-Whole30 stuff. I know from previous attempts that preparation is the key for me.
