crlhi
This is my second whole30 experience, although the first one was over a year ago....it seems like the first round I felt so much better!! I don't have cravings anymore. Although I do snack more now (I save my nuts from lunch and eat them as a snack or have some fruit for dinner), I know we aren't "supposed to" but I feel like the time between meals is so long!!!!! I am also addicted to purple sweet potato's and have them at almost every meal (half a serving each time). I don't know if any of that is derailing me. My fruit intake is still 2 or less a day. But I have NO ENERGY! My skin has actually gotten worse being on Whole30. What is going onnnnnn?!
GFChris
Can you post 2-3 days worth of your meals and snacks, including approximate portion sizes, daily water consumption and nightly hours of sleep. Also, any exercise you've been doing. Where are you in your monthly cycle? How's your current stress level?
crlhi
Can you post 2-3 days worth of your meals and snacks, including approximate portion sizes, daily water consumption and nightly hours of sleep. Also, any exercise you've been doing. Where are you in your monthly cycle? How's your current stress level? Sorry just now getting to this. I am on day...20 now I believe and STILL exhausted. I want to pass out by the time I wake up and I am dead around 3pm. Which is not good considering I have exams and I cant study. This is what my last two days of food has looked like Breakfast day 1- Two eggs over easy, 2cups of spinach, olives, banana and cashews Breakfast Day 2- Blueberry and 4 eggs "tortilla" with 2 cups of spinach on side. The egg was cooked in coconut oil Lunch Day 1- 2 aidells hot dogs, 2 cups of spinach, olives and pistachos lunch day 2- Large bowl of beef stew (carrots, sweet potato, celery, broth, beef, onion) Dinner Day 1- 3 naked chicken strips with brussel sprouts and olives and cashews, cherries Dinner day 2- bowl of beef stew (carrots, sweet potato, celery, broth, beef, onion), cherries on the side I am so tired!! I am sick of feeling like a zombie
GFChris
2 cups of spinach cooks down to very little. I'd suggest adding at least a fist-sized serving of carb-dense vegetables daily. When eggs are your sole protein, the serving size is the number of whole eggs you can hold in one hand without dropping them. For most folks, that's 3-4 eggs. The 3 chicken strips may not be enough protein. You want at least the length, width and thickness of your palm, or double. Try using nuts only sparingly as a fat, as recommended. The egg/blueberry mixture sounds pancake-like and as such, would not be Whole30 compliant. Are you getting 8 hours of sleep nightly? Are you drinking at least 1/2 an ounce of water per pound of body weight, daily? How is your current stress level?
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted May 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted May 26, 2015 Without knowing exact portion sizes (aside from 2cups of spinach which is hardly anything when you chew it down), it looks to me like you're not eating enough in general. Are you hungry along with being tired? I second the notion to add starchy carbs and make sure you're drinking enough water... that's plain, clear water, not coffee/tea etc... Also, depending on where you came from before you got here, could you actually have low iron? That makes people inexplicably tired... might be worth getting that checked if you think it's a possibility...
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted May 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted May 26, 2015 I would add more fat. The cooking fat often stays in the pan -- be sure to scrape it out onto your meal or add another source. Don't skimp. The template recommendation is a minimum. Shoot for 3 cups of veggies, especially when greens are a part of your serving. Cook up some sweet potatoes or other starchy veggies for at least one meal a day. Try these things and see if the way you feel improves.
