jessicalynn
Today was day 1 for me! Meal 1 3 eggs scrambled with spinach and compliant salsa Black coffee with a dash of cinnamon Meal 2 Chicken, brussels sprouts, mashed sweet potato (no afternoon snack, really proud of myself about this one!) Meal 3 Spring salad mix with basil, prosciutto, and figs After dinner-mug of herbal cinnamon tea I was TIRED today. I think I might be getting sick actually, because it doesn't seem like one day of whole 30 eating should bring me to the tired phase already. I came home from work and napped for 2 and a half hours! jessicalynn
I haven't been doing a very good job keeping up this log! I've mostly been posting in the thread in the "Join the Whole 30" section. I'm on day 7 and I must say I'm looking forward to the tiger blood part. Had bad digestive upset in the morning on days 5 and 6, so hoping it won't repeat on days 8 and 9, which the timeline says are the most likely days for stomach upset. I just got Wellfed 2 today and I'm getting excited about cooking some things out of there. I'm also really interested to see which foods I'm going to have a reaction to on the reintroduction. I already have a sneaking suspicion I have problems with dairy, which is very sad because I LOVE cheese. But we'll see. I'm looking forward to keeping up with an overall healthier lifestyle after I finish the whole 30 without being as strict about it.
jessicalynn
I've been sticking to the plan. I've been enjoying eating a lot of avocado, and roasted veggies. I've been doing a lot of meals of sweet potato, roasted veg, and a meat. I also made a butternut squash mash to go along with eggs for breakfast the last few morning and it was yummy! I just bought some plantains, I'm excited to cook them once they ripen to go along with eggs for breakfast. I tried a whole 30 once before and discovered that I do not do well on low carb, so I'm trying to make sure I get enough starches in my diet. I'm pretty bummed out today though. I have asthma and allergies, which is one of the reasons I wanted to try whole 30. My asthmas been pretty out of control lately. I had a really bad asthma attack yesterday that landed me in the ER, so I have to do a 5 day course of prednisone. Prednisone is an oral steroid that really is a god send for asthma and allergies, but it hits me like a truck when I take it. It makes me tired and irritable. Basically I am like a really angry zombie once it really gets into my system. Last time I took it I went to bed at 7 pm the last three days I was on it. I had hoped doing whole 30 would pre-empt the need for a course of prednisone (my doc has brought it up to me a bunch within the last few months), but nope. On the upside I've been doing a lot of planning ahead and freezing meal ingredients (shredded a whole compliant rotisserie chicken and froze it in individual servings, froze some ground beef patties, froze a bunch of servings of sweet potatoes and white potatoes) so even though I anticipate being extremely tired over the next week I'll at least be able to remain on plan. On a brighter note, I wasn't doing this to lose weight but I noticed yesterday my stomach was looking flatter than usual and I'm wearing a pair of jeans today that didn't fit me two weeks ago. Totally not upset to have a flatter tummy after only 8 days!
