Merel007
This isn't my first whole30 (infact it's my 3rd round), but this one is by far the most vicious one! I feel like I've been run over by a truck, I have to drag myself around all day and hardly can keep my eyes open. I don't know if it's due to my battle with the sugardragon or hormonal. Let me explain: I have a mirena spiral since about 5 years now, so I guess it at the end of it's withs. Because I have endometriosis I had to take the yasmine pill all year around to prevent having a cycle. But I felt horrible with all those hormones. So my bf showed me the ultimate love gesture, he got a vascectomie so I could ban all hormones from my body. I've quit my pill now for a few weeks, mirena is running low I guess and I have belly cramps which are getting worse by the day. Anyone had the same experience? Is it the whole30 or is it a mix of all the above? Link to comment
jmcbn
I'd say it's a combination of all of the above. The coil running low after a 5yr stint, stopping the pill that you've been taking all year round, AND changing your diet - your hormones will be all over the place for a few weeks yet I'd imagine!Stay strong & increase your intake of starchy veg to try & help you feel a bit better whilst your body get's back to functioning as it should... Guest Andria
I would agree with jmcbn, that it is a combination of all of those changes - even though they claim that your body does not absorb the hormones from the mirena (i find that hard to believe). If you would like, you could post a few days worth of meals to help you troubleshoot. Sounds like you are a Whole30 veteran, but sometimes when we think we know something really well we can get a little lax and maybe your meal structures could use some tweaking. Also, be sure to take care of yourself and getting plenty of rest, gentle movement and keep well hydrated. Link to comment

I'm perimenopausal, so I imagine my hormones are in flux regardless of what I do. I'm going to borrow the advice you were given and up my starchy veggies. Good luck! Link to comment
TrayS
If you're feeling like crap on Day 5, you're following pretty close to the timeline! All other factors aside, this is normal for Day 5. Hang in there! Link to comment
