Recommended Posts

I have a buddy who is concidering the whole30....

His basic goal is to drop from 230 to 200 or so.

I'm not anywhere near a schooled expert on this & I don't want to mis lead him.

I guess the question is really.....

How much weight loss is generally seen during a whole30??? LBS or %

Thanks Ya'll

It seems like it depends on a few things -- your individual body and metabolism, how much spare weight you have to lose, and how much of a change in your eating the Whole30 really represents. When I started, I was about 17 pounds over my lowest adult weight, and I had been eating pretty healthy food anyway. I've only been losing about 2-3 pounds per month of Whole30.

Wow befabdaily had great results! A reasonable expectation of weight loss is between 1 and 2 lbs per week (so, 4-8 for the entire whole30). Some people will see a much bigger drop in numbers because of loss of inflammation from eliminating some food sensitivities (that will return if they resume eating whatever food it was). Weight loss isn't the point, though. I would encourage your friend to set some goals in addition to weight loss (like energy, sleep, general feeling of vitality and health, etc.). When all that is in place weight loss will come along in time.
