littlewhistler
Hi - are these OK? (except the chocolate one which has Stevia in). Not something I would want every day because they are expensive. I am going to the theatre tonight so thought I might take one for when everyone else has an ice cream in the interval. edited to add I mean the yogurts. I didn't see the ice creams further down the page
GFChris
I would say a "no" due to context: here, you're looking for a substitute for a social treat instead of feeding hunger. If you wanted to use it as an ingredient to make a coconut-based sauce for a savory meal, that would be ok. My suggestion to you would be to eat a template based meal before your theatre outing, and drink water during the interval, if you feel you need something in your hand. littlewhistler
yes - I agree it would be a social treat. I am having my dinner before I go. Is it never OK to eat with others for pleasure rather than hunger? But of course, the main point of the evening is to enjoy the entertainment together not the food. If those are the rules, then those are the rules

If those are the rules, then those are the rules The Whole30 is about changing your relationship with food. Eating for hunger and eating with others don't need to be mutually exclusive. Certainly we celebrate the benefits of community and being social while eating. It's a recommendation, more that a rule, of making sure the social aspect isn't the only reason you're eating. ETA: From a rules-based perspective, this product has tapioca starch. It's ok to have tapioca starch as a thickener in creating sauces and cooking. It's not ok to use it to make paleo treats. littlewhistler
Thanks Chris. I DO have to question why I feel that the interval ice cream is an integral part of the theatre experience. Actually, now I think of it it is more likely my dad and OH will want a beer and my mum a glass of wine. Good job I am driving!
Munkers
Enjoy a seltzer with them at the bar! No reason that the designated driver can't have a fun and Whole30 approved drink as well.
eboyle86
I wish you could get these here (Ontario, Canada). I miss yogurt and could really use the proibiotics but the only brand of coconut yogurt I've been able to find has cane sugar and rice starch in it. Carlaccini
For probiotics feel free to add kimchi, kombucha or sauerkraut to your meals (for kraut - look for it in the refrigerated section. Bubbies or Mrs Whyte's should be compliant - but check ingredients list. As for yogurt even if you did find it - you would be hard pressed to use it on a whole 30 unless you were using it in sauces or soups. Eating it as a yogurt replacement is not recommended.
