I do not have a gallbladder and am wondering if anyone else has figured out the winning direction to go in for the whole 30.  I read in the book where people without gallbladders might need to take an ox bile supplement, but also that it might be best to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals instead of the three regular meals a day.  I am sooooooooooooooo confused.  I want to start soon and can't figure out the best direction to go.  1)Do I take the three meals (plus the workout meal), and divide them into 5 or 6 small meals WITH the ox bile supplement OR 2)eat the regular 3 meals a day(plus workout meal) WITH the ox bile supplement OR 3)eat the 5 or 6 smaller meals WITHOUT the ox bile supplement?  ANY help will be much appreciated.  Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance!

In deciding whether to eat 3 meals or to break these up into smaller portions, I would look at what works for you now. Are you tolerating full sized meals? If so, give it a go with 3 meals a day. If this isn't working so well, add the ox bile, and if it's still not working, try moving to smaller meals. Everyone is different so you may just have to tinker a little to figure what works and what wasn't. You may also tolerate some fats more than others and may need to exclude certain foods if they cause too many symptoms.

What Munkers said. My experience (six years no gallbladder) has been that I seem to tolerate regular meals and fats just fine, but you might be different.

Also, if you are eating at similar times everyday, your liver may "learn" that that's the time it needs to be releasing more bile to aid in digestion.
