whole30.101
I've been a lifetime junk and carbohydrate addict. Yes, addict. I've also realized that I stuff myself to bursting simply because I'm bored and because food makes me feel good (temporarily). Not being able to eat what I like makes me feel like I'm not having a good time and makes me very irritable. I've tried many times to change my eating habits, but I haven't gone more than a few hours before I cave in to my junk/carbohydrate wishes. I know it'll be hard in the beginning, but I will do this. I'll be posting daily for the next 27 days (27 because after that, I have something coming up and I won't be around for a few weeks. I'll still be maintaining the whole 30 diet in the duration of my absence). I have to appear in a major exam in a few months so I'll be balancing the whole 30 with a lot of intense studying. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join me on this journey. And here I go.
jmcbn
Be sure to get enough starchy veg (sweet potato, squas, beets etc) into your system in the early days to counteract the sugar cravings your body will having coming off of a SAD diet. And don't be afraid of the good fats - these will keep you satiated for longer & keep your cravings at bay.It might help to post food logs in case there are any tweaks you need to make to the content of meals, or portion sizes...Good luck! whole30.101
Thanks for the suggestions! I really appreciate it. I do plan on posting a food log daily. Is this thread the best place to do it or is there a separate log designated for it?

whole30.101
There's one thing that I'd like to add about myself and that is that I'm also pregnant. Initially, I didn't want to share this, because I know how taboo 'dieting while pregnant' can be for some people. However, this isn't a diet. It's a healthy lifestyle change. I'll try my best not to go under a certain caloric limit. My doctors have already told me that I'm at high risk of gestational diabetes and they have cautioned me to eat healthy and go lower on the junk and carbs. I think it's important that I get this out there, because there are so many things that I can't eat at this point because they make me feel nauseous; mostly any type of meat and eggs. So, if anyone who sees my food logs is wondering about my bizarre eating habits, it's because of all those wacky hormones (I'm still in my first trimester so it'll be a few weeks before it all settles down).
