How much fruit is too much fruit?

Hello,

 

I'm wondering if anyone knows how much fruit is too much fruit? It say to "Occasionally add a serving of fruit" on the meal planning PDF but what is occasionally? Are we talking every other day? Every three days? Every five? Or once a week? Thank you in advance for your help.

The recommendation is that if you are going to enjoy fruit (it is entirely optional, not a requirement at all), you stick to a max of 1-2 pieces per day and only with main meals, never alone.  Don't let the fruits push veggies off your plate either, you still need the 1-3 cups of veggies, the 1-2 palms of protein, the 1-2 thumbs of fat and then if you're still hungry, have the fruit.
