sakigemcam
No, no, not asking about bread but as I begin my first Whole30 on Monday after this weekend prepping, I'm thinking my husband would really benefit from doing one and I am preparing to nag - er - suggest the plan to him. He packs a lunch every day - he often has to eat while driving and sandwiches are the easiest thing to eat with one hand, without spilling, etc. There is no way this man will eat a lettuce wrap. What other creative alternatives are there for one-handed eating that will make him feel like he's had a real lunch vs. grazing? I am anticipating his objections.... TIA! SpinSpin
Hubby is a trucker, so I understand the switch from sandwiches to .... not! Typically, he does hard boiled eggs, meatballs, egg bakes that I have cut into bite sized pieces, roasted veg--sweet potato chunks, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and parsnip 'sticks', raw veggies, olives, nuts (not so much any more because they are soooo expensive, and I would rather use the $$ on good olive oil and avocado oil), slices/pieces of steak, pulled pork in larger chunks... there are some threads around talking about how to feed hubbies in this situation. sakigemcam
Thank you - yes, true, steak and meat could be finger foods. Hmmmm. Sounds like you do a lot of cooking for him!

Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted June 1, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 1, 2015 I've seen NomNomPaleo make sandwiches using two slices of roast beef ... I second the suggestion for meatballs, salmon cakes, even compliant chicken apple sausage or hot dog (I'd pan fry it first).
Munkers
Scotch eggs are a favorite finger food in our house. If you already have hardboiled eggs then all you need is some compliant sausage to wrap around them (or ground meat of choice spiced to your liking in lieu of sausage). I don't bother dredging them in almond flour or anything else. After the eggs are wrapped up, they go on a cookie sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes. I've also been known to toss my meal into a bowl or tupperware and shovel it into my face each time I hit a stop light. Not the best idea, but sometimes that's what it takes to get good food in my belly AND keep up my other commitments. That only works for driving in town though since there aren't any stoplights on the highway.
