Homeport Homestead
I have been on the Whole30 for two months and enjoy the fact that I can be creative and actually cook. I made my own mayo for other dressings and ghee. If have been non compliant it's been by accident if I've gone out. I've lost 21 lbs. My doctor is pleased since I did it without much exercise (other medical condidtions). I would like to sautee liver with onions, but I don't see much mention about organ meats except in a pate'. Any help?
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 1, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 1, 2015 Yes, you can have any organ meats prepared in any way you want, as long as the recipe doesn't use non-compliant ingredients.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 1, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 1, 2015 Here is one way I have prepared liver: http://www.wholelifeeating.com/2013/12/calves-liver-with-artichoke-hearts-diced-tomatoes-and-prosciutto/
SpinSpin
I love liver and it is really wonderful ground up and added to meatballs, about a 1:1 ratio with ground beef. If beef liver is too strong, just sub chicken liver.
Munkers
Organ meats are fantastic to eat. Enjoy it! (And share recipes because I'm still psyching myself up to make it a regular part of my diet.)

skybluepinkalien
Can I presume as organ meat is ok, home made pate with no ingredients which are "no-nos" is fine? Also if that is ok, is a fish based pate with no dairy products ok?

Yes as long as there are no non compliant ingredients and you're not eating it on some sort of paleo cracker..
