Day 39 Help, please

Recommended Posts

I need help, friends.  I love Whole 30 and living a healthy lifestyle, but I'm still not having the Tiger blood I was so eager for.  I have been faithful to the plan and can see changes in my clothes which I am grateful for.  My problem is fatigue, having trouble going to sleep and then trouble getting up, and I am so down in the dumps and I really don't know why.  I feel like I'm doing something wrong and feel like giving up.  At this point, I believe I was sleeping better before the program.  It is not a caffeine issue and I can't imagine why I feel so down.  I realize I may be one of those who has to go the distance to a Whole 45 or 60, but I'm feeling a bit discouraged.  Any advise?  Thanks to all of you.

Can you post a few days worth of typical food consumption ( inlcuding portion sizes), fluids, stress, sleep habits, exercise etc? This will give us something to look at and try to make some educated suggestions if anything stands out.

What's your starchy veggie consumption like??

Thank you for your quick reply.  I am eating 3 eggs cooked in coconut oil daily.  I don't always have veggies with meal 1 but often have some sweet potato or mashed cauliflower with it.  I drink coconut milk - abt 1/4 c in my coffee.  I may have a second cup of coffee, black, at work around 10am but nothing after that.  That is something I have always done and is not new - the mid morning cup. I used to drink much more than 2 cups/day.  For lunch I do a meat, either chicken or leftover steak or burger - probably 4-5 oz though I don't measure it.  I always have a veggie with lunch.  Sometime salad with whole 30 compliant ranch dsg.  I love sweet potatoes and eat a half a potato with lunch or a serving of mixed veggies like cauliflower, broccoli and carrots.  I usually have fruit - honeydew/watermelon; half an orange or a small fuji apple.  Dinner may be 1/3 of a large ribeye, chicken - 1/2 breast ( I try to the palm size recommended)  And I tend toward the broccoli with garlic or mashed cauliflower and may do the sweet potato or sometime a small white baked potatoe with ghee.  I don't have a real broad palate when it comes to veggies.  I do salads with cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots but often, they don't fill me up.  I will do some fruit with dinner as well.  Drink maybe 3 glasses of water daily.

In answer to your other questions - Stressful job as a nurse practitioner in a busy oncology clinic, managing cancer patients getting chemotherapy, but this is not new.  I usually go to bed at 9 and try to get up around 530am.  I've had trouble going to sleep since starting whole 30.  I have occasionally taken a very small dose of melatonin but it hasn't really helped much lately.  I'm usually very tired in the evening but it seems like as soon as I lie down, I'm awake then I can't get up early in the morning.  I am not exercising.  I was hoping for the tiger blood/switch flipping that I would have the energy to do it around week 3, but I am pretty wiped out then have felt so discouraged that I just haven't done it.   Thank you for your time and help.
