Reintroduction Phase or Keep Going?

Recommended Posts

I just completed my #whole30. I feel it was very successful and am extremely proud of my accomplishments.  I ate all the right foods and got out of it what it's meant to do but I am at a crossroads on how to proceed.  The first time around, I just jumped right in and made sure I only ate foods on the approved lists.  I didn't make any of the sauces or recipes, didn't make my first week meal plan, and kind of just went day to day, making sure I had food on hand. If I didn't have the foods, I would just wing it.  My meals weren't always divided out properly, sometimes, I only ate nuts or grapes, just something to get by. I made a mistake by eating something that wasn't approved because I didn't know.  I did not let that deter me and start over because like the newsletter suggests, I am an adult and I knew starting over when it was an honest mistake would not be the best decision to ensure my success.  If I knew what I was doing and still did it, then I needed to start over.  This has been a life changing event for me and I'd love a place to journal all of my feelings.  If/when I do it again, I will surely log not only my food (I did that most days), but I will log my emotional and physical state too.  I lost 8lbs and 1 pant size in my first 30 days.  I have noticed that I can touch my toes now - what?! - and I never could before.  Also, while I did not work out during the #whole30, I did start back and realized I never got winded with my workout.  I am so grateful for a friend that introduced me into the program!  I am on a roll and feel like on one hand I should keep going, on the other, I know it's not a lifestyle diet and don't want to crash and burn from all the deprivation!  I hope this post was to the correct forum!!  Feedback is appreciated. I would recommend doing the re-intros, so that you truly know how different things affect you.

Think of it as preparation for a time when you might be stuck somewhere where you can't get any Whole30 food for awhile. You really do want to know which of the lesser evils to choose in that type of scenario. And it will happen.

Then, you can file that knowledge away and go back to mostly eating Whole30 style, until something really special and worth it comes along.
