Day 3 Upset Stomach

Recommended Posts

I am on day 3 and I feel as if my body is purging all of the bad food and drink choices I have made the past 3 years.  It started yesterday afternoon on day 2, stopped last night, and is now happening again this morning.

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms this early?

Are you actually vomitting? Or are we talking the Big D?

The latter is fairly common, the former is not to be expected.

If it's the former get yourself some over the counter anti-emetics. If it's the latter post a few days worth of food/liquid intake, activity levels etc and we can see if we can do something to help.

Hope you're feeling better soon...

No vomitting and not really the big D just having the urge and going more frequently than usual.  I eat egg wihtes or hard boiled eggs every morning and throw a banana in if I am still hungry.  Lunch has consisted of grilled chicken or steak coupled with a veggie.  Dinner has been the same except I throw an avocado in there with some grape tomatoes.  My staple drinks are coffee in the morning and water throughout the day.  These are all food that I eat often so the only big change for me is no grains and dairy.  I am also off the processed meat like sausage and bacon.  Oh yean and diet soft drinks are gone as well.

The exercise has been all but non-existent lately besides walking 10 blocks to and from work but I plan on getting to the gym for a run today.

I was curious if this is common and I believe you have answered that question.  If you have any meal ro exercise suggestions they would be much appreciated as I am a first timer.

Thank you for the reply.

Lots of people go for hard boiled eggs for breakfast, and whilst convenient, they can be hard to digest, and I know if I ate them every day my stomach wouldn't be too happy. Maybe switch them up to scrambled or fried? The fat you'll use to cook them in will contain a digestive enzyme called lipase which will help with digestion. How many eggs are you eating? When they're your only source of protein you should be eating as many whole eggs as you can hold in one hand, which is 3-4 for most people.

You could do with adding some veggies to meal one as well. Fruit is compliant, but shouldn't push the veggies off of your plate.

Are you adding fat to your meal 2? You don't mention any...

Coffee wise be sure not to drink it before breakfast as it can be an appetite suppressant, and you want to start the day with a good feed.

Make sure you're taking 1/2 oz of water per lb of body weight - that should help flush your system out.

It should settle over the next few days, but don't be afraid to get an over the counter anti-D med to help for now...
