missmunchie
So, I was running errands in the city yesterday and despite having what I thought was a substantial lunch (leftover ribeye, roasted cauliflower, baked potato w/ olive oil) I found myself getting really hungry. I didn't think my errands were going to take me so long and I knew I wasn't going to make it home before major hunger pangs set in, so I found a local Whole Foods to grab a compliant snack: - compliant prosciutto - guacamole - baby carrots - kombucha (for funsies) This was probably the most expensive "snack" I have ever had, since it came out to well over $20! I normally don't even spend that much on lunch. Of course, I didn't eat all of it so it was really two snacks' worth, and I ended up polishing it all off for dinner later on. But it's just crazy how before I would have probably stopped in at a Starbucks for a ginormous sugary latte instead. What's been the biggest surprise in planning/budgeting meals for you? kirkor
*koff* Ya, that store is nicknamed "WholePaycheck" for a reason! I'm a fan of tinned sardines and the like --- cheap, portable, store well, good nutrition, satiating, etc.
