Completed - fine but the earth didn't move

It's day 31 but I'm just going to carry on until I decide otherwise.

 

Overview of the past 30 days.

 

Positive

- Much easier than I expected - althought being generally disciplined about food and drink anyway was a help

- Rarely felt hungry or missed anything except ice cream and goats cheese

- Having vegetable and meat or fish breakfast is great - didn't miss porridge at all

- Digestive system is "lively" but in great shape - none of my occasional reflux and IBS

- Very pleased to have kicked sugar and avoid sweetness in foods

- Great to have a simple "no additives" rule

- Lost about 3kg (around 6 lbs)

- Some family meals possible without any changes - I cook from fresh ingredients anyway

 

Negative

- Less energy than before - regular runs (3-4 times a week) feel more like a chore despite great weather

- Mood tending gloomier than before

- Generally less interest in food 

 

All in all a good discipline and an approach to eating that I'm happy to continue.

Sorry to hear about the performance issues and mood. Are you including regular starchy vegetables in your meals? Carbs have a big impact on recovery from activity and are also needed for serotonin production which can impact mood.

Good point. Potatoes occasionally but otherwise no starchies. I'll give them a whirl.
