Starting June 9

Recommended Posts

I am a 23 year old, single, but I have a vibrant social life, and a soon to be nurse. I have had an awful, obsessive relationship with food forever. I've never not struggled with anorexia or binge eating. Right now I'm on a period of binges. This binging needs to stop. It's not healthy. It's making me sick to my stomach and exacerbating all of my IBS with constipation symptoms.

I'm an avid crossfitter and I've done a lot of paleo, but honestly as I have fallen off the wagon. I want to stop the binges and have a healthy gut. I have a huge issue with foods without breaks. I am an addict and I fee powerless to food. I want a change. I need a change. I want to be confident and feel great about myself. Right now, I feel disgusting and like I have a huge layer of blubber.

I want to feel in control.

I've tried Whole 30 before, but i've never been successful for the full 30 days. I want to complete this and be a success.

I'm starting on the 9th because I had a really huge binge tonight and I feel sick. I need a day to meal prep and prepare mentally and be NPO.

Goals - complete the whole 30, no binges, feel in control when it comes to food, clear skin, no longer bloated feeling stomach, kick the diet coke habit, make my fitbit 15k step goal everyday, WOD 5-6x a week, no shopping for 30 days.

To overcome binges, you have to eat substantial, nourishing meals at least three times every day. If you eat too light or skip meals, you set yourself up for a binge.

You are exercising too much. 5-6 WOD's a week is too much intensity, especially if you are walking 15,000 steps per day in addition. Actually, 15,000 steps per day is too much without considering WOD's at all. I appreciate that you are 23 (and bullet proof), but do not WOD more than 4 times per week. Try yoga if you are antsy and need something to do. Avoid athletic-type yoga. Find Iyengar yoga and devote yourself to achieving perfection with poses.

Don't have food with no brakes in your home. No nuts and no fruit for you. :) Eat two servings of starchy veggies every day. One serving might be part of a post-workout meal, but make sure to have at least one more serving per day with a regular meal. Starchy veggies are important to emotional health and balance. You will need all the help you can get to avoid binges.

You can change your life and keep it changed. We'll help you.

Dear Nomorebingenurse,

I can totally relate to you and your food issues. Also an avid athlete and very knowledgeable about health and food.

I am starting my third attempt at the whole30 (feel like a total loser).

Would you be interested in supporting each other when we feel like giving in to our sugar demons?

Great job on day 1! Your M1 sounds awesome! I have yet to try plantains.

How are you feeling today focus wise?

Also, my first day off after starting on Sunday will be Friday. I usually go out and have a fun lunch by myself at a new restaurant. So this week will be challenging. What things do you do on days off to keep busy and not focused on food?

Hi! I'm feeling good focus wise. I didn't set the alarm so i just slept until my body woke up.

I just started at the hospital for my practicum on Sunday so I'm probably not the best person to ask how I keep busy on my days off and not focused on food. I have the NCLEX and my ICU class work so that keeps me pretty busy. I also just set goals for the day whether it's an errand or a project or something. I just try to have my days based in something active and be as busy as possible and out of the house.

Best of luck!
