tracyspinner
I'm doing a lot of travelling this week for conferences, in meetings, and away from my office. I need some meal ideas that can be eaten on the go (in my car) or in meetings that don't require a microwave to heat food. I have a "six-pack fitness bag" to keep my meals cold, but no way to heat them. Thanks!
Physibeth
I'm doing a lot of travelling this week for conferences, in meetings, and away from my office. I need some meal ideas that can be eaten on the go (in my car) or in meetings that don't require a microwave to heat food. I have a "six-pack fitness bag" to keep my meals cold, but no way to heat them. Thanks! I'm not good at cold meals...I generally like them hot. However when it is hot out I tend to go for egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad type foods. If you cook it correctly most cooked meats will still taste good cold. I also find that some roasted veggies taste good cold. If you have Well Fed 2 she has a number of good cold veggie dishes (belly dance beet salad and casablanca carrots immediately come to mind). Remember meals don't have to be fancy. Just assemble enough food to satisfy the template. Sometimes scrounge meals are the best.

MTNan
In my job I rarely have access to a microwave for heating lunch. Depends on your tastebuds, but my favorite are: 1) tuna salad made with homemade mayo, celery, and tart apple, with celery, bell pepper, and cucumbers; 2) salad with leftover protein from previous nights dinner, load up with an assortment of veggies, avocado, homemade dressing; and 3) cooked and aggressively seasoned ground meat, in butter lettuce cups. Of course with all these, make sure you have the right amount of veggies, and it's easy to add in fat with dips, dressings, avocados, olives, etc.
