Frozen Bananas

Actually, if you freeze chunks of banana and eat the frozen chunks of banana, it's fine. Just don't blend it into an ice cream like substance.

I posted this on the banana "ice cream" thread a minute ago, but in case anyone missed it, from the Can I Have list:

Paleo Ice Cream (YoNanas): No

This. Is. Ice. Cream. Unlike plain frozen fruit, or fruit blended into ice cubes, the only purpose of this confection is to replicate the taste, texture and reward sensation of ice cream. (Don’t tell us you’d get the same satisfaction from a frozen banana because we call your bluff.) Plus the addition of cocoa, nut butters, nuts, or other fruits to your creamy concoction… this is straight SWYPO, and it’s off-limits during your Whole30.

And that's what I said I did. Frozen banana chunks that's all. Instead of jumping on someone new to tell them they are wrong. Try reading the post. You made my first day on here my last

No, what you said was that you ran the frozen banana chunks through the blender until they were the consistency of ice cream.

I'm sorry you feel that you've been attacked, that was definitely not my intention, but the rules for the Whole30 are very, very specific, and we as moderators try to make sure that everyone understands those rules. These rules address not only the actual foods you put in your mouth, but the habits and emotional connections to foods. Having an ice cream substitute goes against those rules, even though it's made out of just bananas. If you want a banana, eat a banana. If you want a frozen banana, pick up a frozen chunk of banana and pop it in your mouth. No problem. But when you blend the banana until it resembles ice cream, you're really just eating an ice cream substitute, and we want you to move away from that.

You'll find several other foods that fall into this category. Pancakes made from just banana and egg are not allowed, because that's just a paleofied version of a pancake. Have some eggs, scrambled or fried or hard boiled or whatever, and have a banana -- that's fine, but combine an egg and a banana into a pancake, and it's against the Whole30 rules.  Potatoes are allowed on the program, but not commercially prepared or deep fried potato chips or french fries. These are the rules. Our job as moderators is to explain the rules, that's all I'm doing here. It's not personal, it's just an explanation, given in as clear a way as I can manage.

Really, Raemikky? Come on now.

Your post: When your bananas just start to get brown spots on the peel, slice them and freeze. Run the frozen pieces through a Ninja blender until it is the consistency of ice cream. Amazing taste and texture just like ice cream. You can also add some frozen strawberries or a pinch of instant coffee to flavor.
