wandertofindwonder
Okay, so I have read the Whole30 book. I know snacking is not recommended.. However I do have a question that I need help with! Okay for example, Today I started the 7 day meal plan in the Whole30 book. This morning the book told me to have an avocado and a piece of fruit with my Spinach Fritta...I was too full to have the avocado and fruit. Around 10 am I got hungry. So my question is this? If I have my avocado and fruit at 10 am is it still considered snacking? Even though I could have already eaten it for breakfast but chose not too?? Thanks XOXO
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted June 16, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 16, 2015 If you get hungry between meals, you want to eat a mini-meal of protein, fat, and hopefully veggies. So maybe next time, eat a little of everything you had planned, then wrap up what's left and eat more later until your body adjusts. That way you will have frittata and avocado for later if you need more, and you won't suffer from a sugar spike from the fruit.
Carlaccini
Okay it would be okay to eat the leftovers of the frittata and avocado and fruit but not the avo and fruit alone. If you need a snack because you are honestly hungry - litmus test - are you hungry enough to eat something super bland like broiled plain fish and boiled broccoli? If the answer is yes - then eat. If you are just feeling "snacky" because let's say you always used to have a snack at 10 am and therefore you feel you need a snack - do something else. Maybe have a tea or go for a short walk. A snack should look like a miniature meal. So think template - protein, veg and fat - just do it small scale.
