softlysoaring
Hey there… so starting 2nd round of Whole 30 July 1. I've seen varying things on this topic floating around the internet so I thought I'd ask and get some feedback. For someone who doesn't normally struggle with eating massive amounts of sweets in my day to day life, is it acceptable to make sorbets and popsicles on Whole30? I'm not talking whole-cans-of-coconut-milk-almond-date-pieces-of-crushed-larabars concoctions. I'm talking strawberries and bananas in a popsicle mold or a food processor. I realize that might be SWYPO food for some, but I really don't struggle with sitting around eating whole cartons of ice cream or boxes of popsicles regularly. I have other vices (hello chili cheese fries and Guinness) but it's not that. It's just freakin' hot in the summer and seems like a good way to cool off. On a related note, the Chilli-Cheese-Fries-Guinness Dragon is just as powerful as the Sugar Dragon. FYI.
SpinSpin
Unfortunately, no. They are SWYPO and in fact there was just a discussion about them the other day -- http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/28683-can-i-make-popsicles/ You are better off finding a cold soup or a refreshing cold drink (infused water, iced herbal tea... ) and keeping your fruit with your meals rather than doing a popsicle. Administrators ladyshanny Posted June 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 22, 2015 Nope, sorry, those conventional "treats" are off limits even if they are made with compliant ingredients. Even if you don't specifically have an issue with popsicles etc, we still ask that you refrain. Plus snacking is highly discouraged to begin with so eating a frozen fruit concoction mid day because it's hot out is pretty much out anyway. Ice water, kombucha with lots of ice, a fan with a mister on it, cold dinners (big-ass salads, gazpacho etc) are all nice choices to keep your cool.
