I'm about to start the Whole 30 and am not too worried about the will power involved in statying with the program.  I do need help with breakfasts.  I often get in to work early and eat cereal which is a no no, I know :).  I need ideas for simple to prepare breakfasts to take with me.

This has been covered many times. Google search "Whole30 no egg breakfast" and you'll be inundated with ideas.

We refer to it as Meal 1 rather than breakfast so you can break those limiting associations with what food you eat in the morning. Many Whole30ers simply eat leftovers from the night before. Try it!

I hate eggs, but I love skillet hashes! I make a huge pile on the weekend and reheat every morning for breakfast.

The formula is: cook some onions and diced potatoes (white or sweet), add some additional veggies, and then throw in ground meat (beef, chicken, pork, whatever). Season to taste.

My two favorites are:

-Diced white potatoes and diced yellow onion into a skillet until cooked through, add a can of fire roasted tomatoes and half a jar of compliant salsa and continue to cook, then add chorizo. If you cook the chorizo first in your skillet, you can cook everything else in the chorizo fat. Top with guacamole.

-Carmelize red onions in ghee or coconut oil with a little balsamic, then add diced sweet potatoes and cook through. Add chopped peppers, and then crumbled breakfast sausage.

I can't stomach eggs in the morning and breakfast was a HUGE challenge for me.

My advice is to keep pushing through it even if it's hard. Your body will get used to eating breakfast (and veggies and meat at breakfast). I was like you - sweet and creamy for breakfast!

The only breakfast that I can manage still is usually mashed sweet (or regular) potato with some spinach or zucchini or other veggie fried up in some clarified butter or coconut oil and some pre cooked dark meat chicken, ground beef, etc. I actually enjoy it and the sweet potato does help a lot with the sweetness factor.

Good job asking BEFORE you get into it since you know you may struggle in this area. Planning is good!
