GAgal
So far so good. I did a lot of prep before my start date (eliminating this and that gradually) and was ready to go on June 21st. Pretty much all I had to do by the "official start date" was to give up stevia in my coffee. And I have to say that coffee is pretty good on it's own. Who woulda thunk it? I have been a clean eater for many years but realized I was going back to some bad habits lately - especially when under stress. I was really just using the stress to be lazy if I am being completely honest. Enter the Whole30. It was just what I was looking for. And the fact that the hubs wanted to do it made it even better. So far I'm loving the food and creating new dishes. Oh and one very important thing.... I didn't set out to do a W30 Plus by any means but you see....I have wanted to stop smoking for many years. So far it's been almost a week and I don't really seem to be having any cravings for a smoke. I think about it occassionally but it's kind of in passing. I don't know if cleaning up my food and being so focused on creating awesome meals is helping me to not have cravings or if I was just finally ready. Either way I'll take it. I already feel better than I have in a very long time. More to come....

GAgal
Day 3.... An observation....It's amazing how many veggies end up on your plate when you take away the "fillers". I think I will probably have to go to the store again before the weekend. M1 - Spanish Tortilla (eggs, sausage, peppers, potatoes) topped with a dollop of red pepper sauce, sliced tomatoes & avocado, coffee with coconut milk. M2 - Leftover sauce from chicken cacciatore and left over pork carnitas over spaghetti squash, cantaloupe, small handful of almonds, water. M3 - Classic Chili from W30 (added sweet potatoes, a TBLS of coco powder and a little Magic Mushroom Powder - cut the salt in the recipe some), broccoli salad (homemade ranch, raisins, chopped pecans), tea w/lemon. Oh and I had a snack when I got home from work - boiled egg. Lunch was at noon and dinner wouldn't be ready until about 7pm. I knew I would never make it. The egg did the trick though. The hubs complemented me on the chili. I think he's really starting to like this. It makes me happy.
GAgal
Day 4.... It was REALLY busy yesterday so I didn't get to post. But I'm happy to say that even through all the craziness I stayed on plan. M1 - Spanish Tortilla (eggs, sausage, peppers, potatoes) topped with a dollop of red pepper sauce, sliced tomatoes & avocado, coffee with coconut milk. M2 - Leftover Classic Chili, broccoli salad, cantaloupe, handful of coconut flakes M3 - Baked flounder, roasted potatoes (sprinkled with Magic Mushroom Powder - I'm REALLY liking this stuff), cole slaw with homemade mayo, a dollop of red pepper mayo to dip the potatoes and fish in, tea w/lemon. GAgal
Day 5.... Well day 5 is in the books. I've been a little tired compared to the last few days and had some focus problems. I'm sure this is probably normal. Overall my W30 has been pretty easy so far. Hopefully that will continue. M1 - Boiled eggs, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, tomato and avocado. Coffee with coconut milk. M2 - Chicken salad (cooked chicken breast, mayo, chopped pecans, raisins, celery), mixed sweet pepper wedges to scoop the chicken salad (1.5 large bell peppers total), strawberries & blueberries. M3 - Grilled steak, salad (with romaine, tomato, cucumber, carrot), ranch dressing, 1/2 baked acorn squash w/CB & cinnamon, tea w/lemon. Spent some time today planning a menu for Saturday. I have to teach for about 4 hours and them we are going to an outdoor charity concert that evening. No time to cook so I will be doing that and packing our "picnic" on Friday evening.
