Fireweedinak
Hi, I ordered coconut butter based on many references to it and how yummy it is. The directions said to heat it and mix it....I wasn't sure how to heat it so I did it in the microwave. Was that the right thing to do? After mixing it is was pretty grainy. Is it suppose to be grainy or did I cause that by using the microwave (1-2 minutes on medium for the whole jar)? I'm not sure what to do with it now that I have it. Any advice? Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 7, 2012 Moderators Share Posted September 7, 2012 I've used the microwave before and that does seem to make it a bit grainy. The other route is to put the open jar in a pan filled with water and warm it on the stove for 15 to 20 minutes until the coconut butter softens. That method works best, but I sometimes pop mine in the microwave anyway because I don't want to wait.
