EggSalad
Hello all! I'm on day 21 of W30 and have seen some great changes. But, here's the thing... I have seen NO change in my yucky pimple-like eczema on my face. I've done elimination programs in the past and each time I've had clear skin within a week... and the other programs didn't allow eggs. I always thought it was dairy or gluten that triggered my eczema... but could it actaully be eggs? Thanks for reading!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted June 29, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 29, 2015 I'm on an egg-reduction test at the moment (reduced and not eliminated because I still use an egg in my mayo) and my skin is a LOT better than it was. My husband's psoriasis is also much, much better. It could be eggs, you could try eliminating egg white as that is where most of the allergen is. Eczema is also something that tends to stick around long after the trigger has passed. For me if I eat dairy I will deal with the eczema for up to 14 days. So it is possible that you are still in healing mode. Bear this in mind if you do decide to try eliminating eggs, it could be many days if not weeks before you see an improvement. Eliminating them for a week or so is probably not long enough, you'd want to do it for around a month or so.
Loulabelle
What Ladyshanny said is correct. Eggs were one of the causes of my eczema and even though I followed the AIP protocol to the letter it took several weeks to clear up. After my W30 was over I had allergy testing done and I found out that I am allergic to eggs.
Carlaccini
I also am on a reduced eggs test to figure out if they are a contributing factor to my long standing eczema on my hands & face. I definitely have seen an improvement - but I am still having some minor issues. However the psoriasis on my scalp has completely cleared - which I am thrilled about. EggSalad
Ahh, thank you so much for the useful feedback! So it sounds like eggs could definitely be the cause. Ah, eggs. Delicious eggs. I am eating 4-8 eggs a day, so I'm definitely egg-heavy at the moment! I'll have to figure out when I'm ready to reduce or illiminate eggs for a few weeks. With so many of you noticing eggs as a contributing factor, it really does sound like that might be it! Thanks again!
Administrators ladyshanny Posted June 29, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 29, 2015 I'll admit that I was heartbroken when I decided we needed to let eggs go. They were my go-to, my comfort food, my convenience food, my pre-workout food, my "husband's working late, don't have to make a full dinner" food. I hope to add them back in at some stage...but I think I'll have to limit them. It was getting a little crazy on our end, we were eating at least 3 every day and sometimes I would have 6-8 in one day.
