Athenyja
I am on day 9 of my first Whole 30. Starting yesterday, I've been getting wicked hives that flare up after meals. I know that I have been indulging too heavily on almonds and almond butter this past week. From the timing of the hives, it seems that there could be a connection. Is it possible that I have developed some sort of allergy to tree nuts? I have never had a problem with any food allergies, so this is pretty surprising. Nothing like waking up in the morning to a cup of coffee and dose of benadryl.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 30, 2015 The best way to know is to stop eating nuts and nut butters and see if your hives disappear.
praxisproject
Pesticide levels and types of nuts can be a factor. Hazelnuts are missing some of the enzymes which are in other nuts.
