Well  I am into my 4th day.  Doing well, had some small sugar cravings when I get tired but otherwise I have been 100 percent compliant.  This plan makes you spend lots of time in the kitchen cutting up and preparing all your veggies which leaves me little downtime in the weekday evenings.  Will start doing more prep work on Sunday to solve this issue.  My husband has not sabotaged me as of yet but he is worried about our camping trip in a week.  I am ordering the compliant meal bars and make my own compliant gorp while we hike so I should be covered.  He can have his snickers and chocolate.  I can do this.

The meals I have prepared are usually scrambled eggs with mushrooms, onion, peppers and their salsa recipe (which I love) for the mornings.  As a family we liked the salmon cakes and the roasted green beans, mushrooms and peppers.  Also tried the shepherds pie with sweet potatoes.  It was good too.    Having potatoes/onion hash with Steak tonight so can use left over hash with eggs tomorrow.   Will cook some seafood/fish on Friday and over the weekend.

I started on June 29 as well Stacy! Glad to hear that everything's going well.

I was gritting my teeth last night scrolling through Facebook and seeing all the weird recipes my friends were sharing of apple pie tacos and cupcakes. I mean, I don't eat these things on the regular, and certainly don't care to know WTF apple pie tacos are, but the feeling of sugar leaving my person is making me want it!

I don't know about you, but I feel like I am doing so many dishes. So, so many dishes.

You've got this, girl! Camping sounds like it will be beautiful.

Today is day 5.  Doing very well and yes even the TV commercials are putting up junk food recipes for 4th of July.  If I see one more Oreo Cookie pie/cake/ice cream recipe I am going to scream!  lol.   This will be the first 4th of July I have not worked in 4 years and my husband is disappointed because we can't go to the BBQ dinner put on at the local church.  I told him we could go but he doesn't want to if I am not going to eat.  So we are headed Sat to the local Farmers market so I can pick up some fresh veggies.  I have some in my garden but not a very big variety so will peruse their stalls.  I had potatoes diced with green peppers, onions and steak last night.  Tonight I am fixing shrimp, and sweet potatoes, sautéed green beans.  Need to prep more this weekend so not spending so much time fixing dinners then turn around and fixing breakfast & Lunch for the following day.  Not fun.

Day 6 and after supper.  I had seasoned hamburger pattie and Portobello mushrooms with green beans. A banana for my fruit.  Ate out for the first time at fresh to go.  Had talked to the manager and they prepared the salmon gluten free with olive oil, garlic and salt and pepper.  it was over a mixed green salad with raisons and almonds.  Dressing on the side which I didn't touch.  It was good even though it was a little daunting at first but it worked out. Made it through 4th of July.  Go me.

Went running!! Feel okk but with less energy, normally I just eat a banana before my sunday running, but today I ate an egg tossed with lactosefree pesto, it feels ok, I finished a little bit late in comparisson to others day, maybe my body just have to get used to it. After my run, went with my running friends and had a chicken salad with strawberry, peaches and almonds, with no dressing! So, I cant believe Im doing it!!!! Day 4, here we go!

Day 7

Today was tough grocery shopping.  Made a list of meals and ingredients needed but didn't get excited about any of the meals.  Nothing looked good so it was just getting things that were compliant.  Had potato, mushrooms lean ground beef and green peppers for breakfast and, lunch was mixed greens, eggs, avocado mushrooms, onions, cucumber  tonight for dinner I fixed a roast in the crock pot.  My family liked it.  I have leftovers for lunch so I only have to cook breakfast.   That will make for a relaxed evening.  Tomorrow is another day.

There are so many amazing whole30 recipes available, it might be worth looking for a recipe or two each week that does excite you. There's definitely something to be said for keeping things simple, it helps keep stress levels down, but if you have time to try a new recipe or two each week, it will help you overcome food boredom.

The Clothes Make The Girl is one of my favorite sites for recipes -- most of them are whole30 compliant. There's also Nom Nom Paleo, and moderator Tom Denham has a site with over 400 whole30 compliant recipes here: http://www.wholelifeeating.com/

I've got a Pinterest board linked in my signature with all whole30 or easily modified to be whole30 recipes.

Plus there's a section for recipe sharing here on the forum.

Blah,  Good news it's Day 8, Bad news is I am not hungry and I don't want to eat.  I forced myself to eat 2 eggs with salsa and drink some coconut water.   Have brought leftover roast with veggies.   Don't feel bad just no hunger.  I will work out after work and maybe that will snap me out of it.  Dinner I plan on cooking a whole chicken with veggies then making Bone Broth.

Here's to Day 8. yippee.  <_<

You got this stacy116!

Only 22 days to go!!!

Focus today on the positives you've seen. ..sleeping better? Clothes fitting differently? ? Enjoying the new friends you are making? ?? ;0)

Ha, haven't seen any changes for the better yet! Not sleeping, irritable, clothes still tight.  Just the new friends is the plus so far.  But I will ride it out until the end.

Day 9, was able to eat breakfast  (sausage: (homemade), eggs, mushrooms and onions)  Really enjoyed the sausage, need to find some compliant bacon.  I love bacon crumbled on a salad..

Feeling a little more up today an I am so glad yesterday is in my rearview mirror as it was ROUGH.  Just counting down to camping.  Really looking forward to some movement outside and water sports!

Thought:  Hotflashes have been over the top since I started this plan.  Thought it would be better without sugar.

Day 10!

I can't believe I have come this far, I don't think I have stuck to a diet plan for this long ever.  Of course I never really needed one before either....   Go me.   Well the sausage has brought the change of flavors but it is missing some one flavor but my husband and I are not sure what it is.  I am sausage, hash, salad for today and a Whole chicken tonight on the rotisserie with Green beans and peppers.  Need to make some more salsa as well and use up  some of those tomatoes from my garden.

Finally starting to come out of the funk, just wish the hot flashes would abate.  Why am I have more of those?

Stacy good to hear you are coming out of the funk.  I am starting Day 8 today!  I am feeling much better.  Day 4 was actually the hardest for me, but I kept trudging along!  Hopefully you find some good recipes to help you out!  Here is a good marinade that I got for chicken off some site (I can't remember which one since I have visited so many)!  I tried it last night and thought it was really good.

1 cup of olive oil

Handful of cilantro

2 jalapenos

2 TBSP of green chilis

4 cloves of garlic

I added some chopped onion to this, as well

Blend in a food processor or blender.  Marinate for 30 - 45 minutes.

Was so yummy!  :D

Day 15.

Just came back from camping over the weekend.  I had purchased wild zora and Epic bites for all the hiking we planned on doing and a couple of laura bars.  Liked the laura bars apple pie and the Epic bites.  The Zora had a weird texture/smell so will be getting more Epic bites for my week long camping trip in a couple weeks.  My husband and I loved the grilled salmon with garlic powder/olive oil and diced sweet potatoes with red peppers and onions.  We will prepare the sweet potatoes in advance for a weeklong trip and freeze.  Had eggs and steak for breakfast and a banana.  It was food, nothing to get excited about. And for lunch I had salad, Last dinner was seasoned hamburger with green beans.  Again nothing to get excited about but easy to fix at campsite.  Miss pancakes for breakfast when camping along with roasted marshmallows over the fire in the evenings.    Also miss my homemade tortillas as I like to wrap so many things.  I am sticking to the plan and eating only 3 meals a day with no snacking, so compliant and nothing is improving.  Still congested, still fat, no energy change and except now I am constipated and have to take probiotics 2 times a day which I didn't have to do before.  Plus starting Sunday I have balance issues due to inner ear issues.  So 15 days without any improvement doesn't make me think this diet is for me.  The only thing I learned is my sugar intake was much more than I thought and I broke the sugar demons.  We have cookies in the house and candy and I could care less.   here's to 15 more days.
