MellieG
I'm a newbie and need dill pickles for my potato salad today. Any quick suggestions for compliant brands and major grocery chains that carry them?? THANKS!!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted July 4, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 4, 2015 You'll really just have to go look at ingredients. I know Bubbies makes some that are compliant, they'd be in the refrigerated section if your store carries them, but even if you find that brand, read the label and make sure they're compliant since brands can have different varieties and they can change their recipes without warning. missmary
most often they will contain sugar, but sulfites are also common.

kirkor
What's weird is that in the Mt. Olive brand, the kosher dill fullsize are sulphite-free, but the kosher *baby* dills have sulphites! Sheesh!

Love Mt. Olive pickles, well pickled jalapeños. Mount Olive is less than an hour from where I live, and I've always wanted to go on a tour of their facility. One of these days..... Whole30 Certified Coach littleg Posted July 20, 2015 Whole30 Certified Coach Share Posted July 20, 2015 Won't help you for this morning but they are really easy to make! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/refrigerator-dill-pickles/ Just leave out the sugar. Personally, hubs and I prefer this recipe with closer to a 1:1 vinegar: water ratio. We also make them as rounds, not spears - you can fit more in the jar that way
