librarianprincess
I'm having trouble with my stomach- it hurts. It hurts everyday- a gnawing, achy feeling. At the beginning of my Whole 30, I figured I was just adjusting, but I'm on Day 16, and it still hurts. I didn't have coffee for the last two days, thinking it might be related, but it didn't help. I'm not eating any new foods. I've been grain free for a few years, so that's not new, but I have eaten lots of dairy until now. Any suggestions? GFChris
How much water are you drinking daily? Are you moving your bowels daily? Can you also post 2-3 days worth of your typical food log, including portion sizes, exercise and any pre and post workout meals? With that info, we may be able to give you feedback on possible tweaks.
librarianprincess
Drinking appropriately. Bowel function seems fine. Breakfast: two boiled eggs. tea with 1/2 teaspoon of ghee, 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil, spinach, peach Lunch: 1/2 burger, small helping of leftover shredded chicken breast, steamed broccoli, carrots cooked in olive oil. Dinner: spaghetti squash with ground beef and marinara, watermelon, green beans with ghee Breakfast: coffee with 1/2 teaspoon of ghee, 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil, two boiled eggs, green beans Lunch: big salad topped with 2 eggs and 1/2 avocado, banana with cashew butterDinner: lettuce wraps with pulled pork, cooked spinach, raw red pepper and cucumber Also had two sparkling waters in the last two days. Woke up fine both days, stomach pain by mid-morning. Have been having trouble with feeling bloated and not wanting to eat, so have reduced protein a bit- from three eggs to two eggs, for example. I plan to avoid eggs today, and then to avoid coconut oil tomorrow to see if either of those are the problem.
Carlaccini
Try scrambling your eggs instead of eating them boiled. For some reason boiled eggs have a tendency of being a bit hard on the system. You could also stand to eat more for meal 1. I don't see vegetables happening on your first day. Maybe try to include a baked sweet potato - they a known to be pretty gentle on your stomach. Or even canned pumpkin for that matter. Also do you drink your coffee before your meal or after. Try drinking your coffee after your meal.
Carlaccini
Also please note that raw vegetables digest differently than cooked ones. So maybe eat all of your vegetables cooked for the next few days.
GFChris
In addition to Carla's fabulous advice, you might also try dropping the sparkling/carbonated water and switch to plain/still water and see if that gives you any relief.
librarianprincess
It's got to be the breakfast. I ate a Lara bar for breakfast this morning- no stomach ache. Yesterday I ate an avocado, blueberries and coffee with ghee, and felt fine. Starving by lunchtime, but bloating and stomach pain are gone.I know, I know, get back to the template now!
